I tried to buy an Ironman lift kit last fall from Seth Jacobsen and Ironman USA. Seth required a $700 deposit in advance of oredering the kit from Australia. He took my $700 off my credit card. He then gets a kit in for another person and we all find out this kit does not bolt on our USA 60 series Patrols. So any ways, Seth drops Ironman kits for the Patrol and then says he will refund my money. It has been months since he was going to refund my cash....like over 3 months! I sent Ironman Australia an email and got the below reply. I do not know if Seth is still trying to sell the kit (cheating) or not but he is still listed on this site and so I felt I should warn people. Watch out....he still owes me $700!!     Dear Ian,   We no longer deal with Seth Jacobsen because of his business ethics and poor service.   You wouldnt pay USD$700 for an Ironman kit in Australia.   Let alone a deposit.   I am sorry but we cant help you.   If there is no alternative, then legal action may be your best approach.   Here is his phone numbers:   000-000-0000 000-000-0000 (Home)   Maybe a direct phone approach may be more successful.   "Ironman 4x4 Suspension ..  We Never Let You Down"   Best Regards,  Timothy IT Sales & Marketing Manager JSW Parts Pty Ltd, Ironman 4x4 Suspension, Unit A10, Adamco Business Park Corner Westall and Centre Roads Clayton, Victoria. DAM!   I was just about to post a note to that. I actually bought the whole kit minus the leafs... Turns out the HD model was the more popular version in AUS. Thus the kit is for the HD with the bigger rear end. Hense my kit is pretty useless with regards to the rear end stuff.  I too was waiting back on a responce from Ol Seth Jacobsen... That little whezal... Maybe we should team up on this prick? Let me know if I can help.   Grant

Hey all. I have spent some serious hours lookin back through all the messages looking for various pieces of info. However I still have several questions. First one is about the HD verses the regular supensions. This thread indicates that the parts are not interchangeable, but other message threads say they are a direct swap. Which is true? What are the differences specifically? I have been thinking about this Ironman kit but I need to know if it really works or not. I saw a different message where someone said they had used it with no problems. Also I was looking for a message about swapping in the newer 4 speed. I could not find it. I found a message that alluded to it, but no proof positive. Does anyone know if it bolts in?  Thanks!!!!   rob

It is simple when it comes to suspension....The only leafs that will bolt right in an USA Patrol is leafs you might get from Nissan. All the info I have says that USA Patrols have tapered ends on the leafs and in OZ or other places the leafs are not tapered. The Ironman and others will not bolt in and neither will the HD leafs. Yet, by simply getting some custom hangers/shackels made it will bolt right in. So with some very simple work the HD or Ironman will fit a USA Patrol. I have no idea if a later model 4spd will bolt in but I do not think it will. Hope this awnsers your questions......

Just add some chopped down leafs from a full size Chevy! Thats what Im prolly gonna do. My leaf springs dont seem to be tapered at all, unless if they do just barely...

trust me the leaves are tapered on the ends. Sure you can get Toyota or Chevy leafs under a Patrol...others too. Yet, they will not bolt in.

Fud is correct about the fitting of the springs I bought a Ironman suspension set up. I had to change the spring hangers because the new set was not tapered. As far as the quality I love them it did take from Aug 2002 til the day before Thanksgiving 02 to recieve them. I never did get the proper U-bolts or front steering shock. I can post pics if any one is interested. I did get about 3" of lift in the front and had to lengthen the rear shackles to level out the ride as the front is sprung more supposedly for the extra weight of the engine. Ironman dosen't offer much help as to getting the rest of the parts there kit said it was to include the right u bolts and steering shock but I am still not able to get them to do anything to help. As far as Ironmans response to the price I paid what there site quoted.   Vern
