front axle grease zerts on 67 patrol

wondering on the grease zerts on front axle ,between the differential and brake backing plates.....on axle housing area....
usually one would think differential gear oil would lubricate all components ....must be sealed bearings.....that need a bearing high temp grease....ehhh?

Those zirks are to grease the tract-joints on the front axle. They are separated from the axle and aren't lubricated by the differential gear oil

ive noticed under my patrol......under the transfer case, transmission .....there are brackets on each side of frame indicating something was
bolted there....like a bottom plate protecting transfer case from bottoming out...?.....why oh why it was never replaced....is one for the ages...im next to sure thats what was there and im wanting to buy the missing part......please...lets make a deal.......hoyt

Those brackets are for mounting a skid plate which was optional.
