Glass aftermarket marker lamps and taillights

Post by moore_rb »

Lucas 488's - I found some aftermarket ones online that don't say "made in England" on the glass:

3935

So I ordered a pair of red ones to do an evaluation. I figured if they don't work on the Patrol, then they will work on my wife's horse trailer the next time she busts a tail light

Right off- They are smaller than the Patrol's lamps by 3/4 inch in total diameter- Here is one of the ones I ordered, next to a pair of 68/early 69 OEM Koito Patrol lamps:

4161

and, the other thing I noticed is that they only come with a flat trim bezel (similar to the Patrol's rear tail lamps), The amber ones do not have a tapered bezel like the Patrol's front marker lights. Here they are in profile:

4162

From what I can see, they will bolt up on the Patrol without any modifications to the existing body holes, etc... so, The red ones might work in a pinch for someone who needed taillights that look "almost close to original" on an early 62-67 Patrol...

That is the tail light I need for my 66! Where did you find them and do you want to sell the ones you bought?

I ordered the ones off eBay from Colombia and they look like what you need but they are plastic!

After '67 the only glass lens was the license light and the reverse light.
Beyond any hope for intervention
