Are these parts original?

Post by moore_rb »

Since we've established that mine is not a good restoration candidate; and since restroration of this one was never my goal anyway, I have been thinking about what to do about some of the parts on it that would seem to be somewhat rare or hard to find (based on what I am reading).

It would seem a shame if these parts remained on a weekend four-wheeler, when they could be used on a numbers-matching restoration, or on an original survivor to make it even more complete or genuine.

So, I took some close up shots of some stuff on my rig, and I was hoping you all would help me establish:

A) If these are indeed correct, original parts for a Patrol, and
B) Are they really that rare or hard to find?

I uploaded the pics to an album in my gallery:

http://www.60patrol.com/forum/gallery/a ... bum_id=132

If these are indeed rare or hard to find parts, then I want to list them in the for-sale section, but ONLY for people who need them to help improve the originality of an already restored vehicle; or to use them as part of a current restoration project. I'm not really interested in moving them into someone else's parts stockpile or treasure chest.

If you guys see anything that is aftermarket, reproduction, or not that uncommon, then let me know and I'll remove that photo.

Likewise, if you see something that you need for your vehicle or ACTIVE project, let me know.

I also admit that I am totally ignorant as to what any of this stuff might be worth, so if any of them bring any interest, I might need to appeal to the group here to help me establish a reasonable price; so if you see something you want, your bid will have to be posted publicly in this thread. Like I said- I'm not looking to profiteer off any of this, but I'm also not looking to be taken advantage of ;)

As soon as my GM distributor is in place and working, I'll be adding my WP distributor and screw on wire caps to this list as well...

No, the WP cap won't fit the GM distributor.

What I meant was that after I install the GM, I am going to offer my WP distributor for sale...

There is a post seeking a WP distributor in the parts wanted forum, so my WP already has dibs called on it (whenever I get around to removing it).

Looking at the pile of parts, they all appear to be original original factory pieces...

They look all original to me, Give us a price on the

- Windshield Holdowns as a pair
- Winsdshield Rubber rests as a pair
- And the Little Original Door lock for the outside

Hi Mike-

Sure, I can hold them for you. Shipping to Oz might be a bit pricey... I'll PM you
