Hi all my name is Nathan.

Post by ndanskin »

Hello everyone. My name is Nathan. I live in Australia.
I don't know very much about cars nor 4x4s but I am learning things slowly.
I have a restoration project of a 1964 nissan patrol. I think it's a g60.
It's a soft top. So far I'm nearly finished the suspension. Painted and cleaned.
Just started checking and sanding back the chassis. It's in okay condition but needs a lot of work.
All the wiring has been pulled out so it's like I'm starting from scratch. When I get a chance ill put some pictures on.
Nice to meet you all :).

Hey Nathan, welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomewave: Glad you found your way here. :D

Nice, a '66 soft top. There aren't very many Patrols from the '60s that turn up in Oz. You don't mention it but is it a SWB (short wheel base)? Most of the early Patrols were. Sounds like you're making good progress on your project. Don't hesitate to ask any questions here, someone should have an answer for you. Where in Australia are you? We have many members here in Australia.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Dam. Sounds like you have been busy for a while lol.
It's good. The 64 was my dads he started it. By that I mean he pulled the while thing apart.
Haha it's funny I'm slowly gathering all the parts to out together after I work out what there for haha.

Welcome Nathan, There's a few of us in Victoria, I'm in Geelong. Sounds like you've been busy on the ol girl. Let me know if you need a hand with anything I'd be more than happy to give you a hand.
The wiring is pretty straight forward in G60's. Best thing is to get your hands on a wiring diagram and starting at the fuse box work your way through it eliminating anything that's been added over the years (and there's probably meters of it). When you get back to the basic loom you can then work out what works and what doesn't and why.

Good luck!
