REAR MQ Patrol Diff (H233) is in with no issues at all !!! True bolt in modification

There is enough slack from the small spring pin to slide sideways in the diff perch large hole.

Well started to work out driveshafts.

Considering I have 3 MWB rear shafts, 2 front shafts, front and rear MQ shorty shafts. I can find one loose G60 small uni ? Can see one possibly two gearboxes. But need to start looking through junk piles (Boxes and shed) to find some.

Yep the plan is to swap out one end of the G60 tailshaft at the uni. Yep I know they run the same uni, so was always the plan.

As I have the Marks 5 speed, which is longer then the 3 speed, I need to work out from my driveshaft stock, what is the best length. I'm thinking the MWB rear shaft with the MQ diff flange part swapped at the uni.

My MQ Diffs are 4.33 and have detroit lockers. The plan with the MQ diffs was lower gearing, but always lockers after the 73 watagans drive. I need lockers to compensate the poor G60 articulation.

Will get the rear tailshaft in before I do the front. Will need to mov the chassis, will be easier if I can drive it

2 barrel carb is on. Had to drill the carbie mount in about 2-3mm each hole. To mount the float chamber forward I have to run it sideways which leaves very , very little spce to get the adapter onto the inlet manifold. HAd to stack the mount up with 3 old gasket thingo's. Lucky I have a heap of spares.

No I need to work out which is the fuel intake abd which are vents etc. ANYONE

The bottom is the vacum advance. Stupid question ? where does that go ?

Going back out to try again. Will take video as well !! Lets hope I dont blow up , I was a little scared earlier when the fuel came flying out the vents in teh carb as it got quite close to me and the starter motor !!! Spark !!! KABOOOMB

OK after much stuffing around the pipe I was tying to block, kept leaking. So plumbed this back into my jerry can. She starts but as soon as I try and acceperate she stalls. I think there is so much fuel going back into the jerry the low pressure mech pump cant keep up. Will need to buy some more clamps and try and block that return pipe off fully and see how we go.

Also last night walking up the side path I kicked my toe on a brick (I) left in the path. Was trying to get the sensor light to come on. Tow nail was all bloody but no loose nail or blood coming out. Well just knocked it climbing over the 72 OUCH, nail is about to fall off and she hurts !!!

Well I am currently in the midst of madly strip the RED SWB this long weekend (4 days) so I can send the parts of to the tip ASAP.

Once the RED SWB is gone I am collecting the remains of Gibbos' ORANGE MWB. This body will be lifted in one peice onto the 1972 MWB, quick coat of beige paint and registed, if she needs bog it's going on !!!

So in a few weeks I need to collect Gibbo's wreck and in say 1-2 months I will be arranging a G60 meet up at my place to bribe people for some manual labour. Lifting the body's across !!!!

Now 11:38am Friday have most the body off and engine bay bits I need. Rear tub is off and only now need to take the gearbox access panels, unbolt the front body mounts and the top is ready to come off.

All loom, and front guards bits have been removed. Will keep the engine (gez have two now sitting in the garage) plus about 3 gearboxes in the shed. Ferdy gets the rear end, will just cut this off in front of the spring mounts.

Well the wife is hassling me and I have to go !!! Once she wakes up it's all whinge whinge whinge, lets see if i can get back out there !!

Needs to stay Tan as when I put my better body on it won't stuff my rego up. Our rego also says what colour the car is. !!! I want it tan to be the same as the 73, My two twins !!! Original and modifed.

Plus to many orange ones around !!! Gibbo, Big Ramma, the list goes on

Todays work done.

Just waiting on some help to move the body to the front of teh drive. All taht was done solo. Hate doing it solo, just to big and heavy.

Will take all that stuff to the tip tomorrow. Next up to then remove the engine and diff, then all rest to the tip.
