i used to own a military truck and read about 3 years of military vehicles magazine. i seriously doubt any nissan was every used by the US military.. that data plate came off the front of a 7 ton trailer. how many howitzer rounds do you think a nissan patrol could carry? ha. well, it is bringing more than i am prepared to pay anyhow. chris www.greenmountainsolar.com

Yup, he added pictures of the engine and yup, it's the real deal. Good deal! I was wrong - not the first time and won't be the last! I still have never seen a Patrol that had the exhaust routed along the trans on the driver's side. It's got to have a 90 degree bend right after the manifold to get there. Doesn't that hurt the performance of the engine, makes it lose some HP? I thought that was why guys liked to go to straight pipes - to gain HP. Dunno. Fud - I would jump on that Bumblebee Patrol in a heartbeat if it were locked and set up like Rob's. Heck, at $4700 plus about $2500 to get it here, you've got a sweet Patrol already set up for under $10k! Only problem here in CA we would have to smog it forever because it's a '78. Might get past that if the LPG were actually hooked up and working.

I think your hubby would kill you if you imported a Patrol. But the only way to find out if it is like Rob's is to ask! It does have an ARB sticker on the window and some switches on the dash that could be for the locker. H260 only diff you can fit a locker to. It has got a fiberglass top, most Aussie Patrols do. Nissan saved money back in the day by shipping Patrols without tops. Then they had tops fitted made locally in Aus....the sales pitch was something like high tech platic tops that stay cool in heat. Oh ya starting bid is $3,800

Height - 40", Width - 96", Lenght -180" ? That tag is not for this vehicle. I wonder what would happen if you put the 15,000 lbs on it. The other thing I have never seen before is the recessed door handles. Am I seeing that right? Pat

"I think your hubby would kill you if you imported a Patrol." Yeah, you're right. But I sent him a picture of Robs Patrol and he said 'buy it!' - but that was before he knew it was in OZ. I noticed the switches and the ARB sticker, but the listing doesn't say anything about a locker, and if it still had it it should. The recessed door handles were on the 2-piece doors, up to mid '66. Put 15,000 pounds on it and your going to need a lot more bondo.

thats because that data plate is off of a 15000 pd trailer. i have some data plates like that around here somewhere from when i sandblasted my 1/4 ton jeep trailer. i bet they would look good on the glove box door of my old baja beetle. a VW munitions handler.. cool. i bet a brick of .22's would fit under the seat. chris '67 patrol owner www.greenmountainsolar.com
