Vapor Lock

Is anyone else experiencing vapor lock? Is it the ethanol? Just took my 67 camping in the mountains and it kept getting starved for fuel, restart, run for a bit, starved....etc. It is hot here in AZ, water temp gauge was running high. One of the fellow savvy campers suggested vapor lock. The fuel line runs close to the engine, over the top of valve covers (insulated) then to carb. I experienced this issue last summer, changed fuel filter, drained the gas tank, fresh fuel and heet. Any ideas out there in patrol cyberspace? Tx, Charlie

my old VW used to vapor lock. i cliped a bunch of closepins on the fuel line to help heat-sink it a bit. that seemed to help. you could dry socks in a pinch too.. JK. chris www.greenmountainsolar.com

If you are using the mech fuel pump,try pouring water on it when it vapor locks ..old time mechanic told me to do this when I had the problem..if it fixs it for a while the fuel pump is weak,needs rebuilt or replace.

vapor lock tends to happen in the carb not the fuel line maybe replace youre isolator under the carb and check youre thermostat sounds like its sticking or youre timeing is off some reason its building high heat AZ or TX im in AZ
