After 4 months of detective work, I now own a Patrol

Post by PereMarquette1223 »

Not sure how many of you have been noticing my posts on here, but after finally getting in contact with the owner of the 1966 Patrol I have been in pursuit of since the end of June I am now the proud owner of this all original "Survivor" 1966 Patrol. The previous owner Bill was very impressed with my efforts and the work I had put into acquiring the car, and he loved my enthusiasm in learning about the car. He was so impressed that he is letting me have the car for FREE!, and this will include all of the spare parts he has acquired for it over the years along with any and all paperwork and documentation belonging to the vehicle. Being a month away from my 30th Birthday, I am beyond flattered and honored that a gentleman who had never even met or spoke with me prior to this week thought so highly of me to the point he would entrust me with such a rare vehicle.

From what we can tell, a lot of work was previously done to the car, including what was previously new plugs and wires, fresh fluids, a new stainless steel gas tank, new tires (not anymore, but they still had the little nubs on them) amongst other things. It was simply parked when he didn't have time for it and now I have come along and will get it back on the road. The front also has an aftermarket grill and since these photos were taken even more of the front of the car has since been obscured by weeds and plant growth.

I am going to include some pictures here to show off what I am starting with. Me and some buddies plan to load up the car at the end of next week if all goes according to plan. The coolest aspect of this car so far has to be the original manual, seems like something that would easily go missing over time.

Can't wait to get started! Not sure how far I plan on going with this car, but I'll take it one step at a time. I'm definitely gonna make it a driver though that much is for sure.
