Brand New G60

If it doesn't fit in the others but is 60 series related, post it up.

Brand New G60

Post by OVersite »

So I bought a G60 today, $400 after negotiation with no real rust, but no running engine,

Im feeling good, but I think a whole running gear replacement is necessary.

And now the bad,

The front corner is badly dinted, and needs a little attention

Engine is totally gone and needs total

And the seats need some attention

So Im thinking about a VN commodore engine transplant, hopefully with the auto box and a transfer of something else, depends on what I can find.

But I will be keeping the exteriour the same and the interiour will only get new seats. I like the way the whole truck looks, nice and rustic

Congratulations! You've got quit a project there.

The green Patrol next to it looks to be in pretty good condition.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Lookin good mate, congrats. Looks an early '77 is it?

What's the engine in it? Looks an early falcon 250 maybe?

You can get conversion kits for the Holden V6's but you'll be best off trying to make it work with the 60 transfer or at least an MQ to keep the offset output to match your diffs.

Thanks Guys,

The green patrol is for sale if anyone is in Northern NSW, Australia - it has the original running engine, but has more rust and I liked the fiberglass top on the red one.

I really like the commodore V6's only due to their availability and ease of working on.

I will try to keep the transfer case, good point about the ratios. Are there conversion kits available for V6 + T400 auto to 60 transfercase?

Thanks again.

Dellow Conversions will be your best bet. They have a good selection for G60 MQ stuff. Not sure about with an auto though
