So I was walking down the street, just a nice afternoon walk with my wife, and parked out front was the greatest little thing I'd ever seen ... a broken down, beat to hell, flat tired, doesn't run, it'll kill you '63 Patrol with boxes of parts piled in the back ... with a "FOR SALE" sign

What followed went something like this ...

ME: But, dear, I want to get it for Hannah, our daughter

it'll be a project for us

what a sweet idea, I definitely think you should do it

Here we are, two years later, and yes, it's my daughter's patrol, and she's dug in with both feet! I bought it, she's paid for every improvement ... wiring, tires, wheels, paint, etc. I think we cleaned it for 2mos. straight. I was sure I was removing Japanese mud from the transfer case. I have some pictures of it's heinous condition and pretty major fender damage, I'm trying to locate them, I think they're on my daughter's laptop. I could write a book of what we've done to it, but I don't have the time. Actually I don't have time to own a Patrol, er, I mean for my daughter to own a Patrol

So anyway, I snapped a shot of what sits in the garage now ... I did the paint and body work (have never done either, but hey, since when has that stopped me?). Still a long way to go, digging into the instrument panel next, but she purrs, runs like a champ, and ... I'm still weeping ... doesn't leak one drop of oil; I don't even know how that's possible. She's now a daily driver and is already causing rubber-neck accidents ... hmmm, wait til she's done
