Hello! Just joined because I have recently been introduced into the world of the Patrol. I must say I am quite impressed with the overall history of this line of vehicles and their legacy in the automotive world.

Recently, I discovered what appears to be a 1966 Hardtop model partially buried in some brush behind a customer of mine that I occasionally go to for work. The car despite its cosmetic flaws is in decent condition, with a good body and frame. It is mostly all there, and appears to have been worked on somewhat recently as it was parked with several new parts, hardware etc. Hoses have been replaced, fluids were changed, new tires were installed… etc. For whatever reason the car was never finished, despite being registered last 16 years ago in Michigan, where the car currently resides.

I have also discovered that the car is NOT listed in the database, with the serial number being L60-05612. The engine is P46747. It also has the shortest wheelbase offered. The original manual is also present with the car, which has some amazing details on the vehicle not seen in modern car manuals.

My main dilemma is finding out who owns the car and how to track down someone who might have that information. While the car does have a plate, that information is not available to me and I cannot look up the serial number like a modern VIN number. I have sent at least two emails to the business so far, and I await a reply. I think the upcoming 4th of July Holiday might slow things down for me, but I’m not worried about the car going anywhere as it’s not visible from any public point of view which I believe has shielded it from any possible vandalism as it is in an urban area.

Not sure if there are any other approaches I can take to inquire about ownership of the car, and if anyone does lay claim to it. Does anyone have any insight or information on the history of the car given the numbers I have provided? I do believe that the car was out in the Western US at some point given some receipts and other evidence present with the car as well.

Any help or information is greatly appreciated. If I could actually pull this off and acquire this forgotten car I will be thrilled beyond belief as this car seems like a dream vehicle to find in the condition it’s in.

Welcome to 60Patrol! Sounds like you've got the Patrol bug bad. If it's been worked on recently chances are good whoever owns it has been on here to find info. Not sure how we'd figure out who it might be though. It looks like you've done what you can to find the owner. Talked to the customer whose place it's parked behind? Maybe find out who owns the property it sitting on? Leave a note in it with your contact number. Maybe try calling the business instead of waiting for an email, they might not know who to route the email to. Don't give up yet!
