Electronic ignition?

Post by Rgilp5 »

My 69 runs smooth until it gets a little warm and then dies and won’t start until it sits for a while. I had someone suggest replacing the points with a new protonic ignition. Anyone done this? Thx

It could be fuel. Make sure the tank, filter and lines are all clean and clear of debris. Points won't cause that, but many folks have gone with the Pertronix 1763LS electronic ignition. It works very well. You can search here for threads on it.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Fuel is good. Tank is cleaned. Two fuel filters in place which I check all the time. I have also changed out the coil.
I’m going to try the pertronic
Thx for the info
