Pass Mirror Base Measurement

Hello,

I need help prior to drilling holes in my passenger side fender.

I’ve been studying photos of original 1969 Patrols for passenger mirror placement and found that in the photos the base appears like an elongated triangle instead of isosceles. I think this may be an illusion and need someone with an original passenger mirror to measure the base for me. I’ve included a photo with a Kuwait mirror base measuring 3.5” and a mirror base I am making with the dimensions from my original driver’s side door mirror at 3”.

I assumed that the bases would be the same and the door one was just curved. But, Patrols are so unique with subtle differences I thought best to check the 60Patrol.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Bill

Bill,

I measured in mine. This are the dimensions between the holes in the mirror base:

Long side, center to center: 2-15/16" (74.6mm) (both sides equal)

Short side, center to center: 2" (2.54mm)

Esteban,

That’s super helpful. It sounds like the Kuwait mirror base is correct dimensions for the passenger fender mirror. I’ll confirm the measurements tomorrow when I am at the shop.

Thank you,

Bill
