Hello from East Texas

Post by geffg »

I got my '69 Patrol almost a year ago. Now in the last couple of months, I'm getting more serious about working on it. The brakes are the first thing. I can do some mechanic work but not brakes! It's currently at a brake shop and I'm trying to round up the parts. I think I'm down to just needing one front and one rear drum. I bought a '87 Toyota P/U drum the other day, but haven't heard from my mechanic it will work. Any Ideas where I could find the drums? Looking forward to getting things done on the Patrol and any help (I need a lot) will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: You're in good company in TX, there are a few Patrol owners there.

Brake parts typically come from Australia, but for drums you'll need to find someone here that has some. Some folks have modified and gone with disc brakes so there are surely some extra drums floating around. Patience, perseverance and the ability to accept a challenge is the key to finding Patrol parts. ;)
Beyond any hope for intervention

I have some front drums left over after a conversion to disc brakes. Happy to send to anyone willing to pay the shipping.
