Light knob, Gauge Cluster and Speedo

I bought three of the four OEM Niles headlamp switches available, one is left. I sure looks like a match?

Then, there are several gauge clusters and speedometers on eBay right now from various eastern rim countries. I understand the speedos are in kilometers/hour and the gauge cluster nomenclature is not accurate for our L60s.....but will they wire up? If so, will they connect to pre 65 or post 66 year models?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nice find, those headlight switches look like exactly what you need.

On speedo and instrument clusters from overseas or even SA it's a very expensive gamble and your odds are low. There's the issue with the speedo and cable being mismatched on the early speedos. Then the mounting tabs are oriented differently for later models making it impossible to mount the meter in the correct orientation. Gauges changed technologies over the years with regards to internal voltage regulators. There's never any way of knowing what type your going to get. Having said all of that, the set that the same seller that you bought the headlight switches from 'might' be the right era. The connections on the gauges are the early screw on type instead of the push on blade type.

Thank you RiverPatrol. I ordered the gauge set. I think I will send them off to a gauge rehab shop I've used before, though very expensive, and have the symbols/words repainted to L60 terms. I presume the needles still move the same for the given input.

They should be here along with the switches in mid November.

RiverPatrol....on second thought...is it possible to switch the gauge face plates to an L60 faceplates? I have several defunct of each.

You mean the gauge place that lost a set of your gauges?

It might be possible to swap the faceplates but it would be an incredibly delicate job and could compromise the function of the meters. Knowing the talent of who you have available to work on them I personally wouldn’t jeopardize the gauges.

Here is one redneck solution I used. As I recall someone on here printed new faceplates up and they looked great. Maybe someone with a better, less medication addled memory can find that post.

Thank you, I have moved past the crooks at "The Gauge Guys". I now use "Bob's Speedometer. Very slow and expensive but very good.

Regardless, if they work at all .....the prices was VERY GOOD for new OEM gauges.
