P-40 distributor adaptation

Won't run? Engine, cooling system, fuel pump, carb, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Engine & Mechanical' category are here.

P-40 distributor adaptation

Post by Zoltar58 »

I know this has been addressed elsewhere but I can't find what I need to know. I waterproof distributor seems to be shot ironically Rusty. I bought a P-40 distributor but the end of the shaft is too big to get through the distributor stand or mount. Wondering if anybody has dealt with this and fixed it or did I just buy the wrong distributor. Here's some photos thanks so much

Are you saying the drive on the bottom of the shaft is larger in diameter than the mounting shank of the distributor body?

What's the part number on the distributor body you received new?

Resize your pictures to less than 1024 high x 1280 wide and they will post.
