PISTON HELP!!!

Post by CWallace »

Pulled the head off my 74 cab chassis today, and it has one aftermarket piston. I am currently looking for a new set of pistons, but am unsure of what will work for me. The bore does have some lipping, which i should be able to hone out. Am i better off to get it bored and put oversize pistons in???
Are these pistons any good, or has anyone used them as they seem to be different to the original pistons.

Once again any help is much appreciated.
Cheers

The pistons look good. Difficult to know the origin. You will have to make sure what size you currently have before ordering.

A ridge reamer will be the best tool to take the ridge you have rather than honing. Also, it’s best practice to remove the rim before taking the pistons out to avoid damaging the rings.
