wiring system

The manual says this is positive ground system. I am trying to hook up the wiring based on the color codes but things just are not working out. Were there ever negative ground Patrols? If so, how do I tell if mine is supposed to be positive or negative ground? - I had the whole harness out during the restoration and now I am stumped. Any advice woud be appreciated.

to add: my system has an alternator instead of the generator in my parts rig. The alternator and wiring harness looks stock but . . . .

well i have a 65 patrol...it also has a alternator...the system is a negative ground system....all my wiring is still stock...except for a few things that i added....; ; ty

seems I am answering a lot of my own questions lately .. I found a diagram in the patrol information section under documents. That was for a negative ground system. I now realise that the former owner of my rig had put in a two battery system - one under the driver's seat and another on a bracket bolted to the driver's side inner fender panel. There was one of those ribbed magic boxes that allowed both to be charged from the alternator and changes to the wiring harness - hence my confusion when trying to to follow the diagram for a single battery system. Thanks to the person that loaded the diagram - I now have chance to make this work after all.
