Hello friends,

I've had this vehicle offered to me for purchase from South America. I think it's a first generation Patrol, I'm not sure. If anybody can provide me any information, please let me know, if it's worth buying or not, if it's really rare or not.
It's a 1959 Nissan Patrol and it has a 4 speed transmission. Any information is greatly appreciated. I've attached some pictures of the vehicle.

Photos of VIN plate and engine serial number would be helpful.

Uber rare. None in the U.S. that I am aware of. You think parts are hard to find for our Patrols now? I've never even seen any parts for these show up anywhere other than maybe an odd piece here or there.

My biggest concern with a vehicle like this, and in Colombia, will be originality of all its components. Colombians love their cars and are known for keeping them for a long time and fixing them no matter what. That also means adapting lots of parts. A quick look at your pictures shows for instance a Land Cruiser steering wheel, different seats, a Carter carburetor, and the wheels. So it all depends on your plans and what they're asking for. It is very rare, no doubt. But how much it's worth will depend on originality.

Parts will be close to unobtanium. Transmission and transfer case (no low gear on this model) are totally different from the 60 Series Patrol. Engine parts, at least for the lower end and pistons will not be that difficult since that engine is the base of the P engine (this is my guess, not a fact).

There's an article in the Patrolabilia section about the 4W65, that looks very much like this:

It is eight feet tall and hairy. Amazing that you caught it on film. Wasn't there a guy up in Alaska that found one and posted it here?

dang. If you have the ability to bring this in, I would. Parts will definately be scarce, but... dang. why would you not. And, on the off chance that you don't want to, i would certainly love to step in your shoes and bring her here.
