They sure look right.

Have never tried them but they look like the waterproof kind or the originals. I go with the cheapo NGK BP6ES since removing and replacing my waterproof distributor and wires with forklift ones. Nice find though.

Way to go ...Dr. Jones. The holy grail....of spark plugs....is within grasp.....now do I need to have my wife stick her hand into a bag of spiders to get a set?

Is there a way to tell if they are the same heat range as the NGK-BP6ES?

I was checking the link that Plateaucal posted, and the heat range on those spark plugs in 12.

I recalled that back in the days I would use regular Champion N9Y spark plugs or NGK BP6ES. I don't have the water protect distributor. The N9Y Champions heat range is 9.

The parts manual mention a number of choices
B5ES - This will be equivalent to a N12 or N14 (hotter) in Champion.

So I guess those spark plugs are correct.

And to amaze me even more, supposedly Rockauto has them at $14.92 ea. I just checked with a 1967 Patrol!!

And it appears that the OEM NGK is the same heat range as the waterproof Champion 616. Pretty cool.

All great research and info. I bought those Champion plugs Plateaucal found.


Now since RockAuto has the plugs, would they have wires as well?

I checked right now, and they list the wires as well but are the incorrect ones. They're the regular type and for a 4 cyl engine. When you click on their compatibility list, it shows different models, all with 4 cyl engines! Don't buy!
