Patrol newbie - just bought 1966 Patrol
Greetings - I've just purchased a one-owner 1966 Patrol and have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to provide feedback....has anyone switched the 3-speed gear box to a 4-speed or 5-speed and did it enhance performance? Also, is it recommended to change to drum brakes to discs? Many thanks -- Patrolling in Bogota

Re: Patrol newbie - just bought 1966 Patrol
Congratulations!
Only a handful of 4 speeds and 5 speeds available for them, and very little feedback. The Marks 5 speed is highly sought, the only complaint I've ever heard was that 1st gear was too low for street driving.
Brakes have never been recommended to change to disc. When the drum brake system is serviced and adjusted correctly it works fine for the Patrol. Only a handful of disc conversions have known to have been done, I have never heard a comparison.

Beyond any hope for intervention
