proper oil viscosity
Just curious what oil people use in their motor? I got 3 cases of 5w20 and 5w30 and am wondering if I can get away with using the both in my patrol. Seperatley of course I wouldn't mix them

Hi Matt,
In my 1970 G60 Patrol over here in Australia with the original factory Engine I am running 20w-50 Petrol Engine oil in it,
the product I am using is Gulf Western Premium 20w-50
However it all depends on engine condition, if you have an old worn engine that you know burns some oil then I would be running around a 20W-50 Oil in it.
Though in saying that, I haven't diagnosed mine to be burning any oil, so next service ill be running a 15w-40 Diesel engine oil,
reason for the diesel oil is that they contain a heap of cleaning detergents , so its not only lubricating but forever cleaning as well, hence why u never see a diesel engine with anything but pure black oil at service time
So its upto the owner really, but both a 15w-40 or a 20w-50 engine oil will be fine for an old g60.
Steer away from any of the synthetic or semi synthetic oils, no good for these old dinosaurs
