This one is for the hard top guys..

I was wondering if someone could explain and take pictures of how the removable American hard tops work.

I am not interested in the Aussie aftermarket versions unless you have one with a proper mounting solution. ALL of the Aussie hardtops I have come across are silicone and screwed (sometimes with wood screws) and seem to be a fairly permanent fixture.

It's super easy. Unbolt at top of windshield, unbolt along the top of tub edges and lift it off. Back doors can be split in half for going topless too. I have actually have managed to do 3 or 4 of them by myself, it is a bit heavy but one guy can slide it backwards off the tub and then lay it on the floor. I don't advise this if you have a nice Patrol!

Cheers

I took the hard top off my 160 by myself. Similar experience with wood screws and silicone as well. Yuck. How does everyone remove silicon?

Thanks Ian, how does it seal along the top edge of the windscreen?
