Fertan for rust converter

Post by Peter60 »

I recently had my windscreen replaced on my G60. When it was removed, as you would expect, there was some rust under the windscreen rubber.

The guy installing the windscreen brushed the rust with a wire brush and then sprayed some Fertan. It went black after about 5 minutes and formed a hard surface. He then installed the windscreen.

I asked him about Fertan. He had been using it for years and works on all types of machinery, trucks and marine. He said it was great stuff, but not UV resistant so it needed painted etc. Its also safe as its non toxic.

The product seem pretty good. It is readily available in Oz on eBay etc.

It seemed like a similar product to POR-15 rust converter.

Has anyone any experience with Fertan?
