Hello all. Just purchased my first patrol
Hello all. I just purchased my first Patrol. 1965 soft top. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Shaun, welcome to 60Patrol!
That's Alex's old Patrol from New Mexico. Do a search on the forum for user "socalwrencher" - I think he bought it back in 2013.
It still looks good- I hope it's still running well also.
What sort of advice are you looking for?

Mainly i was looking for some sources on dismantling it to get it all the way down to the frame. I want to do a full restoration. Plus any source on hard to find parts. Lastly. with a 3 speed transmission has anyone successfully swapped in a 5 speed to get it up to a highway vehicle?

Nice soft top Patrol there. Are you going to do the resto yourself? There is tons of info here in the forum and lots of pictures, just search for what you need. Otherwise feel free to ask any specific questions.
There is a 5 speed for the Patrol, they are pretty rare though. It is an aftermarket trans and they come from Australia. Search here for Marks 5 speed. There are a handful in the U.S., and sometimes you can find one in OZ and have it shipped over.
