Hi guys,
I'm trying to find out if a p40 waterpump will physically bolt up to the P motor, I understand they have their differences but I'm thinking if I can run a p40 waterpump, viscous coupling and fan (might need a custom pulley??) it would be a nice upgrade to the roaring steel fan. The main reason for all this is I need a new waterpump for my resto protect and cannot source one or even a kit anywhere in oz but p40 parts are still readly available.
Cheers

Sorry, but it's completely different. Don't even try.
The front of the P40 engine is where the biggest changes are: different water pump, thermostat housing and timing chain components.

Ok so the p40 pump itself regardless of everything else won't physically bolt to to P block?? Anyone else in Australia have any ideas for a new/reco P motor pump?

See in this forum under "Parts From Down Under" (sorry I don't know how to link to it!).
There is a part list attached for G60 parts. They say they have a water pump - although a bit confusing as they say "G60" and "P40" in the entry.

Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

The water pump # is: 21010-C0626
also
21010-C4925 (which supersedes the above)
The repair kit for water pumps made after 1973 (not good for any USA Patrols) is: 21046-C0610
They list the repair kit at this site in Australia. The price is steep ($211.15) and don't know about availability.

Re: P40 waterpump on g60 P motor
Thanks for your help guys, at this stage I haven't done any good on these leads but will keep trying, after a bit of mucking around I can confirm that the p40 pump will not bolt to the P block as was suggested but I think if someone was extra desperate I think an adaptor plate could be a possible option. At this stage i think I'll be sending this one to Melbourne for a reco. I'll keep you updated
