Cool!
The drop-tailgate and side mount spare make yours one of the "rarest of the rare" early Patrols.
Enjoy your project- Looking forward to following along.

Re: 1965
Welcome to 60Patrol!
Very cool Patrol. It's in great condition especially for being on the east coast. It looks very solid. Interesting how the ones with the tailgate and side mount spare are only found on the east coast.
What's the history on it, if you know? What are your plans for it? Keep us posted, please.

Very cool to see another soft top Patrol. Very straight and with no visable rust, no wait where are the fender vents and you got one odd ball wheel on the left rear? No problem it's still a nice looking Patrol to start with.

Re: 1965
I really want to see the serial numbers from this Patrol...
It may have been sold and titled as a 65, but I suspect that it was manufactured much earlier than that. The 1962 parts book is the earliest official literature I am aware of that shows Patrols with the side mount spare, the lift gate, and the lack of side vents; and yet my own 62 has the side vents.
I'm going to guess that the frame serial number on this one starts with "L60-2" or maybe even "L60-1" ... Let's see if I'm right

Re: 1965
I've seen side vents get bondoed over before, usually on east coast Patrols. That's probably what happened to the vents on this one. This usually happens when they repair the rot on the rear also. You can see that the rear has been repaired, and the front of the fender.

Re: 1965
The ID plate probably showed the VIN as L60-2-00680. Wow, one digit away from the one I scrapped from CT that also had a tail gate.SHOCK PATROL wrote:The ID plate is gone unfortunately. The Vin # is L60200680. The side vents were "bondo-ed" over.
