Just wanted to share with those that get it. I am afraid to take it anywhere now.

Looks ready to go. Wow, you really got that done quickly! I don't remember seeing any before pics? Nice job. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

A driver grade restoration. Mechanicals and body/paint without extensive disassembly. There are a few before photos somewhere on 60Patrol when I first purchased it. New brake hydraulics, shocks, tires, lubes, and a bunch of tweaking here and there. Going in for upholstery soon. What a pleasure to drive. I love the way it can pull an incline in third gear at 1200 rpm. The split rims will be saved for the future, 16's are much better.

That's a smart way to go. You get to drive and enjoy it sooner, and you can drive it places you wouldn't want to drive a complete resto. They are fun to drive, so they should be driven. Congratulations.

I found some before pics: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... 716#p23716

Chris, I already said it before via txt message, but that's Aces, man... and doubly cool that you did it all (even the paint) yourself-

I'll be thrilled if my 65 turns out anywhere as nice.

You either have far more free time on your hands than me, or you have a magic wand for getting your projects done quickly 8-)

Actually it has been in the shop since last November or so. I put in every spare moment I could. The ONLY inspiration I had was the crazy Patrollers that do the "frame off" stuff. Retrospectively, that is what I should have done as it was just a few bolts away from that state.

Honestly, I will probably never do a big project again. Reliving my youthful past was not as fun as I had thought (been 30 years since I picked up a spray gun). But the end result...love it. Thanks for the compliments.

Those are 235-85-R16 Hercules. I borrowed the 16" rims from 67. The 15" split rims were just not going to cut it.
