I made this to service the rear axle

It allows you to set the correct torque on the rear axle bearing as well as not have to beat up the parts with a chisel and hammer. You have to make a calculation because the toque wrench is offset but it is an easy calculation.

If there is interest I could make another one that the group can use and pass around as the loaner tool.

Cheers

I had a similar one machined out that I use for my axles. I can post a pic when I get home.

I used a hammer, and a drift that I squared the end off of, to avoid the "gouge" of a chisel...

And I guessed on the torque - 157 ft/lbs "feels" like 4 solid blows with a 2-pound hand drill... :D :D :D

But, the custom tool is AWESOME...

FYI, the wheel bearing nuts and lock down washers are still available from Nissan. So if you have old beat up nuts from the hammer chisel method, you can replace them with nice new parts.
