Anyone else have this gap?

The windshield frame doesn't look tweaked or bent, but I can't figure out where or what isn't lining up. Is this a common issue?

Also, I took off the Bestop to check the folding windshield and see what's involved in the top door frame removal (after reading a thread today about seizing/binding hinges). Everything went smoothly! Apparently the door glass needs to be removed from the regulator when in half-door mode!

Was the gap there before you folded the windshield down?

That is an adjustment gap. The windshield hinges can be adjusted where they bolt to the body and to the windshield. Just loosen the bolts enough so the windshield can be moved and move the windshield where it needs to go. usually when you are able to clamp the windshield down using the inner clamps on the dash, then the windshield is very close to the correct adjustment.

RiverPatrol, the gap was there before I lowered the windshield, it clamps down with the inner clamps as designed. So, you say I need to adjust the hinges? I'll have to take a look at it and see where the adjustments should be made.

I'd venture to say that the front edge of the windshield is binding before the windshield is properly aligned. It's probably adjusted by sliding the hinge up/down the frame or firewall.

I would try loosening the hinge bolts, pulling the windshield rearward into the correct position and then tighten the hinge bolts. Repeat until it's aligned properly when the latches are tightened.

Good luck!

As the others have said it looks like the front edge is catching first. I had the same issue. Simply loosen the bolts just enough to move the frame. There is also a little adjustment to the lock down latches as well to get them snug.
