I'm sorry... the registry can't be updated until we see a picture of the Patrol in question...
Just kidding... I moved your entry down with the 65's, but it's interesting- the serial numbers suggest that your Patrol was manufactured in-line with the 64's..?
Does it still have the firewall ID plate with the model year showing 1965?

I put it back where it was, in sequence with the others, but left the year as a questionable '65. It's best to keep the Registry list in sequence, even if the year is questionable. It helps when trying to analyze engine years and identify the year of a Patrol that is in question.
Your's might be a '64 that was sold in '65 so it was titled as a '65. The Patrol right after your's in the Registry is definitely a '64. I've seen and ridden in that Patrol. Maybe that's why the VIN plate on the firewall is missing, because that's the only place that the model year is listed.

Yup, good point- organizing the list by serial number does make more sense.

I understand why you put it in the 64s keep your numbers in order , you say it was made in 64 and sold in 65 well that is just one more thing i have in common with my patrol , i was made in 64 and born in 65 ,

the body plate is missing just have the holes where it was

, i will get pictures up as soon as i can i guess i cant do it from my phone but i will get them up some how . I took it for a drive yesterday and it was a great time . Thanks again , this site is awesome and alot of fun to talk to other patrol owners.

Hey Just to let you know. There is a guy on Ebay that makes new vin plates for Datsuns. He told me he would make them for a Patrol if he had a good sample to go with. It is illegal to change the vin plate but I don't think it is illegal to make a new one and stamp your old numbers in it. Vin # is on your frame and engine # is on the block. That is all you need to stamp a new vin plate. If you are in a bind and want to get one made, I have a couple vin plates here from long dead and gone Patrols I would be willing to loan you so you can get yours reproduced.
Cheers
