Glass Fuel Bowl

Maybe we can add the following to the Compatible Parts list.
I purchased about 2 years ago a fuel glass bowl that fits the Patrol, and today decided to install it after my usual once a week trip to the office in the Patrol. Can't recall where I got the tip. It's dirt cheap and available at Tractor Supply Co. for $6.99.

Tisco Fuel Bowl with Gasket, TP-AA4507R,
SKU 0237178
Actually the one I installed didn't come with the gasket, and had a different brand, but the dimensions and SKU number are the same. They came in the package shown in this picture:

Some explanation is needed with that picture. Years ago I purchased a complete fuel filter assembly from the dealership but it came with a metal bowl instead of the classical glass one. With the amount of rust that's coming from the fuel tank, the glass one is a must

. The one that's in the package shown, is the metal one I replaced. The other item is a separate gasket with a strainer, SKU 0237055. However, this number is not working on the website. Maybe since the new glass bowl comes with the gasket, no need to sell it separately.
Now I need to order some filter elements.

I used filter elements from early roadsters from rallye enterprises. I will find and post. Also somewhere I saw actual Patrol filters although they must be the same. Check tomorrow.

Thanks! Great find! I needed this -- I have a glass bowl filter, but when I went to install it, I found a chip along the sealing surface... junk! Dang!
How do we add this to the compatible parts list? 'Cause it needs to be there!

Filters for glass bowl:
John Deer tractors just used a screen and sediment supposedly trapped in bowl. Nissan used filters

Early Datsun Roadster, works also but slightly different

There was an early filter design that had the spring inside the filter. It was pretty cool watching it collapse and expand like an accordion in the fuel bowl. I think I still have one and will post a pict. Pretty much impossible to find but I will shout out if I ever see any.

Although the Glass Fuel Bowl may be interchangeable with other Datsuns, the fuel inlet and outlet are smaller in diameter on the 4 cylinder. (At least the 1966-1968 Datsun 520 unit.) I presume this is the result of the 4 cylinder having 2/3rds the fuel requirement of a 6 cylinder.)
The Chevy/AC Delco has the same inlet /outlet size as the Patrol unit, however it has no threaded mounting shaft.
Trivia abounds on this forum.

Ours is one of the spring type filters -- I'd like to get the replacement for the glass bowl so we can use it!

Also this one looks close but cant tell if the top part where the nut goes on the stock one is the same or not. It also has that shutoff valve on it, not sure if you could take it off or if it is needed for this one to function properly. Maybe someone here knows a little more about this one.

Ain't that the truth
There is a lot of commonality with 60s era Datsuns.
