Forwarding options

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

Can anyone explain to me what the the forwarding options are for the patrols, one of the old brochures says there was 40cm and a optional 90cm forwarding or something to that nature as far as the waterproof options? Thanks Rob

looking at it, 40cm is about the height of the dif breathersperhaps the fording kit has hose fittings for these items feeding up to somwhere higher.. just a guess

From the owner's manual, the following is stated:   The vehicle can ford water of up to 28" (70cm). Nevertheless, if depth is more than 20" (50cm) the fan belt must be taken apart. With the optional waterproof ingnition system, depth of 40" (100cm) are possible. However, since the fuel cap is at 30" (77cm) above ground, and the tank breather hose is 37" (95cm), it's mandatory to raise their heights to prevent water from entering the tank.   Bear in mind though, that this are old cars, and in most, the seals at the shafts are probably not in the best of shapes, and also the 2 big seals at the internal face of the front wheels. If you do go fording a stream, you'll probably have to verify for water inside the oil deposits at the transmision, differential cases.   Esteban
