Hey all- I was wondering if there is a diesel engine that could be used in the 1969 Patrol? I noticed Nissan wise there is a v6 Diesel from the Nissan 720 out of canada. does anyone know of any other makes that might be suitable for a diesel swap. Thanks, w. out of NM

You could swap in an SD33T out of a Scout II if you are lucky enough to find one. Theyre pretty good engines. You will lose about 30 or so horsepower, but gain alot in torque.

Nissan makes the SD33 or the RD28. The RD28 is an all mechanical engine, no electric fuel pump or computers, if you go turbo you have to wire up all the electronics. I have some Patrol service manuals if someone needs them, I sold my patrol. I will put them up on e-bay soon.
