Back on the road...

Finally got to drive her last week. My 6yr old has been chopping at the bit to go for a ride and thinks the old girl is 'awesome'. I also had the opportunity to pick up my dad on his 70th b-day and let him go for a test drive. She has been a thrill to drive. Just replaced the shocks, which had to be blow torched off...lol

Things that still need to be do:
bracket that holds the oil bath
Temp. sending unit
tires- haven't decided whether to go for a more traditional look. Current 32x11.5 are shot.
leaf springs- still bottoms out on turns w/new shocks
fuel / oil pressure gauge need work
want to add a roll bar
3rd brake light
side steps
various rubber needs replacing- have stock piled boots & side window rubber
more cash..hehe

How absolutely awesome! Another Patrol brought back to life! It looks proud to be back on the road. I'll bet your son and father were thrilled to go for a ride in it. How fun! Your list is actually pretty minor, so that's a good thing. That means you've got a drivable Patrol. Congratulations!

How are the disk brakes working?


Congrats on getting to take a ride... both my Patrols are going the opposite direction- more pieces coming off than are going back on...

The front disk brakes are working well. Trying to twist the guys arm that designed/installed them to come up with a kit like he suggested, due to the metal fabrication that is needed.

what rotor and caliper did you use? that would be easy to fabricate with the pictures you provided. thanks for posting the pictures

Did you use the original master with the disc brake setup or go to something else?

bump, still trying to get more info on the disc brake conversion. Can you provide the part numbers on the calipers and rotors or what make, model, and year of vehicle?
