Neil G60's

Post by G60michael »

Over the last few weekend i have been working with a local g60 who i am now farily good mates with. I gave his 76 G60 Custom ute a tune up and a service (he Supplied me everything) and a Valve Adjustment.

I Also gave him a Spare Block i had from my 77 Rustbucket, which we are using to make a Blacksmiths hammer,as thats what one of his hobbies are. So far we got the block prepared, and mounted to a trailer,so neil can tow it to the shows. The block i Gave to him had no pistons or rods in it as i recently sold them to a Bloke in Western Australia.

To source a Piston we wandered over to his wreck, another 76 model this time a Rolled SWB. Ripped of the Sump and head and knocked out the pistons from the top. The Engien has being sitting on its side since the vehicle was rolled over on its side, and rust scale had started in several of the Piston Bores, which tool a bit to free the pistons.

Below is a Video Link to a Blacksmithing hammer the same as the one i am helping Neil make.

Yes,i love blacksmithing aswell Tim, its fun as too.

My mate Neil is very creative aswell. Talk about uses of patrols,he got a Pair of Forge Blowers he custom made usign the Fan/blower from a G60. He used a Set of Split rims off one his SWB to make some Forge bases. He taught me how to make machetti's using a Set of sprign out of the G60 SWB aswell. We also made Some hole punches usign the Swaybar round bar.

The convernted G60 ute of neils Runs a big DC welder and a Sawbench in the sawmill. He also has a Crane with a Boom and Winch (hand operated 2ton) wich the G60 also works with (ut he needs a PTO Winch to mount to the g60 instead of usign the hnad winch 8-)

I will get a Heap of pics and some videos to show you his Farming/blacksmithign G60 art
