60Patrol

Well the new G60 I picked up has a driveline issue,and front Diff jams up when put in to 4wd. I jacked the vehicle front wheels of the ground and Acivated 4wd on the transfer Leaver, then I rotated the wheel around with the hubs "Un-Locked" no issues. Then I Lock the Drivers hub in and rotate 1/4 till 1/2 a turn of the wheel then the front tailshaft stats Vibating down near the front diff ??


Any ideas

Sounds as if the hub might be toast, or even the diff. You should have a few spares laying around, swap it out.

well its now in 2 low, I removed the Front tail shaft,Now there is no noise present at this stage,i have a feeling it could be the pinion Bearing seized or collapsed ?

Well, it seems that you're narrowing the problem. Try to see if rotating by hand the pinion flange at the diff you can feel something. Most probably you have a bad bearing from what you describe. Probably caused by rust rather than wear.

it started to rain so I haven't had a chace to do any more Testign to the Front diff. I am half way through Flusing the cooling System out in the new G60, for those that haven't seen it meet the new G60, I am in Search of a name still for this G60, An Ideas on a name ?
