Dash knob question on Patrol

Got rust? Seats, panels, doors, windows, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Body & Interior' category are here.

Dash knob question on Patrol

Post by GARYSCC »

Hi, on my patrol there is a push button switch immediately above the ignition switch. I recall the previous owner used this push button to start up the engine. I doubt this is original - can someone post a picture of the factory dash - or let me know what that knob location should be for?

The push button above the ignition switch is original on Patrols up to '67. Starting in '68 they used a 3-way ignition switch and placed a windshield washer switch, then a wiper switch where the push button used to be. The original ignition switch is simply a 2-way/on-off switch; the push button would engage the starter to turn the engine over. :ugeek:
Beyond any hope for intervention

Check this post from RiverPatrol. She has one picture there that clearly shows the push button.
