Help: 1964 Patrol Starter Problem

GreetingsCan someone please advise me how the 1964 Patrol starters work.I was able to turn the motor and now it just makes a clicking sound.Cleaned the contacts and grounding well.Battery is fresh and fully charged.Tried to just jump it with a wire directly from the starter but not even a clicking sound. It only does it when I use the actual ignition switch.I find it confusing, all the starters I dealt with, you just tap the positve to the solenoid and that will turn the starter or using a remote starter.Also a wiring diagram or wire color codes from the igntion to starter.Would like to wire it up temporarily just to get it to turn again.I need it to crank so I can try to start it.

debes revisar primero la carga de la bateria que sea suficiente, lluego limpiar los bornes de l bateria y apretarlos y luego en el motor de arranque tambien limpiar los contactos y verificar que por el cable que viene del swich llega corriente al hacer contacto. si todavia no funciona revisa todos los polos a tierra y apretalos y si todavia no funciona debes cambiar el selenoide y repara las escobillas y los bujes como hacemos en Colombia   suerte  obperm@hotmail. com
