The joys a owning a Patrol

As I got in to my patrol this morning and fired it up I noted a slight dimming of the headlights that seamed to go away after a few seconds. “Must be some moisture” I thought. I turned on my window wiper and looked over to the empty spot on the upper passenger side windshield and said to my self “I gotta get another windshield wiper motor” I then noted that my defroster was not working so I opened up the front window vents rolled down the window and headed off. On the way I heard tappet noises and was then concerned that I may have low oil level so I pulled into the gas station a few blocks from my house. The oil level was fine (about a half quart low) and the headlights were burning bright. I grabbed a paper towel and wiped down the windows and prepared to head of when I heard “Hey is that a Nissan Patrol?” A cab driver had pulled up next to me. “I used to have one back in the Philippines back in the 70”s. You know those are the most under rated vehicles…….” We talked for about 10 minutes and then I headed off to work. I got on to the slow lane of the highway and as all the traffic whizzed pass me I noted that I was smiling. You know, despite all the headaches it’s still bad ass to own a Patrol. Pat Burlingame, California.P.S. I passed a hybrid a few minutes later.
