pulling the motor....

Won't run? Engine, cooling system, fuel pump, carb, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Engine & Mechanical' category are here.

pulling the motor....

Post by npca-daner »

buenas dias todos: I'm in the process of pulling the motors from two of my parts patrols in order to see if i have a good crank: Am I missing something or is it a just a pain in the rear to remove the motor?!? I'm removing the clutch housing with the motor and leaving the transmission transfer case intact. It seemad as though this would be the easiest way. I removed the radiator and took the front grill out to give myself more room to work. Has anyone done it differently with less headaches? Also, has anyone recently ordered main bearings? I have the #'s but was just curious if they are available.. thanks duane

change of plan! I've decided to put in a small block chevy motor and tranny in the better of my two 69's- my plan had been to replace the crank and put the motor back, but  I was just given a good small block and have an adapter that should allow a turbo 350 tranny to go in with the patrol transfer case. I hate getting away from stock but need something i can drive daily....Anyways, I'm selling off my two "parts" vehicles on ebay-there is enough to get the good one running and still have a GOOD spare part for everything,  motors, extra water pumps, distributors, radiators, axles, transfer cases plus a whole lot more. I have the bidding starting at $1200, if it sells, great, if not, thats cool too. Also, i'd rather not part them out as i simply dont have the time, if you have any questions, let me know.
