i have a Nissan Patrol GQ wagon and we are have a big problem at the moment. we bought the car standard and put a 5 inch lift kit in brand new springs and shokies, new sway bar at the front, new panard bars on both front and back, new castor plates and wheel balance and wheel alighnment. when we drive the car and hit a little bump the car starts shaking like theres a massive earthquake. it will do it at 100k/m and it will also do it at 40k/m. when the car starts shaking my boyfriend tries to stop it but it doesnt work. we have to basicly stop the car for it to stop and hard braking sets it off. we are desperate for ideas as we compete in alot of 4wd competitions and would like to rectify the problem before new year.   please help!!!!!!!!!   kind regards and thanx heaps. Shirley

I had a similar problem at certain speeds. Turned out to be a broken belt in the radial tires. However they found it when trying to rebalance  the tire. It wouldn't balnce out right. You said you had yours balanced so must be something else.  Keith

Shirley   I suggest you post your problem to the following group as there are guys that have heaps of experience with your type of vehicle and the size of lift: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Patrol4WD/   regards   Michael

you could try putting a sway bar on the back. you can get detachable one so that when you are out in the bush you can tack it of to let your diff move a bit more freely.   Jason

I would be willing to bet you increased your driveline angles to much. the u-joints will bind up and cause vibrations, noise and other problems...they can even break from this. Braking will make it worse as the angles are increased, especially when braking hard. It shouldn't be to hard to fix but you need to talk with the right people. How about the guys who sold you the kit, how about the guys who fitted the kit?? Can't they help as they did this to your truck...unless of course you fitted it yourself, then you cans till ask the guys who sold you the kit.

I have a similar problem generally between 40 and 50 mph, then it just goes. Small bumps set it off and the only cure is to brake to below 40mph. It's only once happened at other speeds and that was a larger hole in the road, would love to know of any solutions. TIA
