Engine Modifications

I am curious as to what engine modifications anyone has done. I haven't been able to pull anything up with a search. I was wondering if anyone has retro-fitted a dry (K&N type) air filter, had a custom header built, or even strapped a supercharger to it. I really like the torquey engine, but some top end for highway use would be nice. p.s. - no I don't care for street racing, would like to be able to keep up on the highway though.

If you don't mind getting rid of the oil bath filter system you can replace the whole air filter setup for about 60.00 US. I did this on my 67. I bought a 4 inch air filter kit that many use on a vw bug, I threw out the cheap filter and replaced it with a K and N filter. The new filter is about 4 inch by 3 1/2 or 3 3/4 inches tall. I had to change out the bolt that attaches it to the carb and cut it off. It just barely clears the hood. I like how it works and is very easy to clean. I also noticed improved power. I first started using it at 7000 feet elevation and the extra air sure was nice. Later and good luck Hugo
