Patrol parts for exchange
Hi, I am Bikram from India and these Patrols aka' Jongas were manufactured here for the Indian Military .I can help you source good condition parts for your vehicle.Things like Steering wheels are available quite easily here-both the 3 spoke and the double 3 spoke ones.As are the 4 ton PTO winches, etc.I will send you these parts taken off surplus Army Partols although still in goos condition and these parts are pretty cheap too.I am not here looking for profits,my only condition is that you would send me parts (small things like switches, blackout lights etc)that i am looking for my Flatfender Jeep ,and i can send you the parts you want.So everything will work out in an exchange and no money involved. As a matter of fact,i am already sending some of small Patrol side decals, etc to someone called Randy, for exchange with Jeep taillights, but i am yet to Ship them them.Anyone INTERESTED????? Regards, Bikram

Anyways,i am going to get free on the 24th of thismonth and then i will probably take a day or 2 for thechrome stuff. When i am done with it i will weightit(i think the entire stuff probably weights not morethan a few hundred grams),and will let you know beforei ship it.Till then keep those lights with you, ireally want those, otherwise i would not have to logon to the net everyday(i hate surfing),and it wouldhad saved me the hassle. Till then, keep tight.Take care,Regards,Bikram ____________________________________________________________________________________Got a little couch potato? Hi Bikram, your ad says all the parts are in fairly good condition,& I only need 1 fairly good badge(decal)as my Patrol is fairly good & that is all I want it to be..if you please, the 2 badges & horn button would be fine trade & I wish you to not have to trouble yourself rechroming,as my experience is to keep a decent original part, those so called experts will destroy them.I am in no hurry, the lights are yours I will send Fedex when you give me your address.

Hi Randy, The parts are in the best condition that you canfind these old parts in.The problem is that sincethese parts are taken off Military Jeep, which gothrough a number of full paint jobs in their militarylife, which is not done by regular paint workshaps butrather by the soldiers who do not bother to take thesesmall details off before painting.Infact they do nottake anything off while painting. They just cover theseats and then all the areas they want not to becoated with the paint, they apply some kerosene oil ordeisel with a cloth to make it a bit greasy and thenpaint it all over with a quick drying paint. The areasthat had been covered by the oil film naturally wouldnot let the paint stick to it,so after the paint haddried they just rud it off with a cloth and VOILA!!!you get a freshly painted patrol within just half anhour. Now the decals have just been painted likethis, therefore have some paint sticking into deepvents. If you do not want me to get them rechromed ,noproblem,it just saves me the effort. Let me get over with my examinations and will sendyou my address the moment i post your stuff.Regards,Bikram ____________________________________________________________________________________Fussy? Hi, You might be quite right. In India itself,3different types of steering systems have been usedsince the starting of the manufacture in the late1970's,but i am not so sure if they used differentsteering wheels. The only difference is that there were2 different horn buttons used in the them. One saysPatrol on it and the other says VFJ standing for theIndian manufacture of the Patrol. The steering used inthe PATROL-Jonga is the 3 Spoke plastic one, where thespokes are single and covered with thick plastic.Ihave seen photographs of the U.S. Patrols usinganother type of a steering wheel which is apparentlylarger with a larger horn button ,and although it is a3 spoke unit,it ought to be a 6 spoke unittechnically, because it uses 2 naked spokestogether, where there was to be one spoke. So it usesdouble spokes 3 times. This steering is also used inIndian Nissans ,but not is the Patrol, with in itslarger sibling, the 1-ton Nissan Carrier used by theArmy, which largely resembles the World war 2 Dodgeused by the U.S.Army.Regards,Bikram ____________________________________________________________________________________Get the free Yahoo! toolbar and rest assured with the added security of spyware protection.http://new.toolbar.yahoo.com/toolbar/fe ... /index.php
