1963 patrol radiator cap
Every time I park my patrol after driving it, water comes out the overflow tube. It looks foamy and I was'nt sure if it was overheating. My temperature gauge does'nt work. Yesterday I hooked up a new temp. gauge and it did'nt go over 180 degrees. Could it be a bad radiator cap causing it to come out the over flow? Does anybody else have this problem?

I don't have that problem, but it sounds like the spring in your radiator cap could be shot, trying a new cap sure is a cheap test.

I had the same problem, but when I had the engine rebuilt I also did what Alex suggested and replaced the radiator cap plus I installed an after-market coolant recovery tank and the problem has gone away in spite of the 103 degree weather this summer.
