I have a 1999 2.8 turbodiesel Patrol. I want to ask  about a light in the dash board, there many warning lights,( oil pressure; abs ; etc), there is one for the Fuel filter,  my question is does the fuel filter light in your Patrol goes on went you turn the key and all of the other goes on ,your never goes on? Thanks in advance Vasco from Portugal

All the lights on your dash are hooked up to a sensor or sensors for that system (abs, air bags ect...). When you first turn the key to "ON" the computer reads all the sensors to make sure everything is working ok and as it scans the sensors throughout your vehicle the lights will go out. Being that yours is a diesel they have a sensor in the bottom of the fuel filter to detect water. Any amount of water in a fuel system on a diesel can destroy the engine. I hope this info answers your questions. Darren.
