Power Brakes,Disc Brakes

Ive seen people interested in power brake boosters,well i was at a salvage yard the other day and came across several samuri suzuki's, the brake booster is small enough to fit the patrol , and on futher inspection, the axle spring perches are in the same location,as is the steering geometry of the suzuki ..i didnt check the rotation of the front axle tho.. but they have disc brakes. also failed to check lug patern not sure if its 6 lug or 5..not sure how strong the axles are either.. but it would be an upgrade or downgrade (depending on axle strength) but replacement parts would be easier to get at the parts store.. The Sammy has a 5 lug wheel and a narrower trackthan the Patrol. The axles are generally weakerwith the exception of the weak rear long shaft.The power brake problem does not come into play withthe axles but rather where to get the vacuum from and how to adapt it to the current pedal/firewallsetup. If you wanted disk-brakes the Land Cruiseris a much better option.jeepcj_6@yahoo.com

How difficult is the conversion to disc brakes? Is there a "kit" that is offered. What could be done to help the stock system?

Stock Cruiser front axels '76 and newer I believe (maybe '78 and newer) are disc brake and for the older ones there is a kit available for the conversion from any number of Cruiser parts places like Spector, TPI, and so on. The Crusier axles are almost a perfect match for the Patrol though about one inch too long overall, which I believe some have said here before is easily overcome.

YIKES!! How dare anyone put something with TOYOTA on it on or in thier Patrol...Thats like powering your Furdwith a 350.....It bad enough having Jeep parts on my rig.... Have a Patrol Day all!

there really is no problem getting vacuum just use a spacer plate between the carb and intake,some already have a threaded vacuum hole plugged off with a bolt and some dont if you use the one without a hole you can drill and tap the hole yourself
