I've been driving my Patrol for decades now. It will go easily to 75MPH, but you're at the max rpm at that moment. Being this engine one of the most under-square engines (0.75 ratio) ever made with a very long stroke, these rpm are not that safe for long periods of times. But going 65MPH on the highway for a couple of hours, no problem.

You'll find that the biggest difference between the Patrol engine and the Toyota, is 7 main bearings compared with 4 of the Toyota, ...or a Chevy, ...or a Ford

Excited to report I ordered the part above for the 240z Engine Bay Light. Fit's like a glove for a replacement of my 1969 Patrol dash light. Came with the rubber gasket and the lens for $30.

Is this round black thing on my 69 Patrol stock? If so, what is it's purpose?

It looks like a magnetic mount for something like a GoPro camera or maybe a GPS, but who needs a GPS in a Patrol?? You just point it in the direction you want it to go and it will take you there!

I contacted 240zrubberparts.com and he's going to make more lenses so they should be available soon.
