Swerve pointed me to this article about a Willy's doing the Old Telegraph track. The same track we will be doing on our trip. For the American's that would like an insight into what we are doing have a read. Hopefully we stay a little dryer than the jeep boys

Im Keen, been reading about cape york trips and talking to a couple of guys at work that have been up that part of the country. Ive got plenty of long service leave, so work wouldn't be a problem, just need to talk the boss at home into letting me go, would love to take my eldest son,it would be a great adventure

My eldest (Lachlan) just turned 8 so he would be about 9and a half when the trip is on, he knows how to hook up a winch and enjoys doing recoveries, just don't know if he would get board, kids these days would rather play an i pod than look at scenery. My wife should come around but it might cost me some gold, diamonds, trips to the day spa, foot massages, holidays and im sure she could think of a few other things

So true, mine said yes. Then week later is saying no, how much will cost, so will end up doubling that cost to spend on her in someway, and still cop abuse years later, like after my 2007, 2011 Simpson trips. Things we do.
